Starting Thursday, January 19th, we are taking over The Cobalt for monthly Thursdays!! ❤️
The Cobalt is an ICONIC Vancouver venue with a longstanding queer history. Known in our community as Vancouver's unofficial official lesbian bar! After being closed for a couple years, they are reopening and LIPS got in there at just the right moment!
Our Thursdays:
-Burlesque show
-DJ dance party
-A private, ticketed event just for us!
Tickets go on sale Thursday, Dec 22nd at 10am!! If we do NOT sell out online, we will have door tickets for $35!
A moment of gratitude to those who blessed The Cobalt before us with beautiful gay panic: Man Up is and always will be a pillar and guiding light, we think ya'll are the absolute best.
LIPS lesbian nights were created with the intention of community building. We are a queer women focused space that has been growing and evolving. We strive for a variety of events geared to different age groups and interests. We are just getting started, so we thank you for being here and coming on this wild ride with us. Ticket money not only helps us continue, but provides paid opportunities for local queer artists and our tiny team of staff "TEAM LIPS".
PLEASE NOTE: No refunds for this event!!
We are trans women and non-binary folks inclusive!
LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Our LIPS event is being hosted in what is now known as Vancouver, BC. We acknowledge that we were founded and organize events on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
We also recognize and acknowledge the ongoing racist, discriminatory, and colonial practices that continue to create barriers for Indigenous peoples and the benefits we have reaped from them.
We are always learning and seek action beyond the practice of this land acknowledgement, in the direction of healing, and reconciliation.
We are grateful to be here.
